Hiking

The area around the resort offers a large number of hiking trails of varying difficulty levels, ensuring that every passionate hiker and nature enthusiast can find something for themselves. Here are our tips for the most beautiful hiking trips:

PROSIECKÁ AND KVAČIANSKA VALLEY

  • The heart of both valleys is filled with extraordinary beauty and, in terms of diversity, they are unmatched in Slovakia. Sculpted rock formations, cliffs, waterfalls, springs, and iconic water mills create a cocktail of natural wonders that words cannot describe — it must be experienced firsthand.
  • You can explore each valley separately according to your preference or complete the entire hiking loop in a single day. The trails in both valleys are well-marked and accessible year-round.
  • A trip to the valleys is also suitable for families with children. In Prosiecka Valley, an interactive detective story on educational boards has been prepared for the little ones, turning a nature walk into a grand adventure. You can learn more about this story here.

  • Predná Magura is an ideal destination for an easy hike in our area, suitable even for families with children.
  • The hike begins in the village of Partizánska Ľupča – the easiest way is to drive past the village in the direction of the Magurka cabin. Just beyond the village, you will find a signpost marked Biela Ľupča, where a forest path begins. From Marina Liptov, both points are reachable within about 13 minutes. You should see a fenced white water reservoir along the way. We recommend continuing by car to the reservoir and parking there before proceeding on foot.

Along the way, you’ll pass the Rumanec point, which has benches and a table – a perfect spot for a rest and a snack. At the top, you’ll find a shelter, a cross, and stunning views of Liptovská Mara, the Low Tatras, and the Choč Mountains.

LIPTOV CASTLE

  • The beautifully renovated remains of the highest-altitude castle in Slovakia — and one of the highest in Central Europe — offer stunning views and a wonderful opportunity to spend a memorable day in the Liptov region.

  • A perfect way to round off a castle visit is a swim in the thermal pond in the village of Kalameny, from where a yellow-marked hiking trail leads directly to the castle.

  • A ladder leads to the ruins themselves, so we recommend considering this if hiking with small children. From Marina Liptov, it takes approximately 13 minutes to reach the castle.
